La Cabane de Mille is located on a magnificent natural balcony with views of the Valais Alps and the Mont Blanc massif. Perched at an altitude of 2’473 metres above sea level above the village of Liddes, it offers spectacular panoramic views. Visitors are treated to a warm welcome and local specialities to enjoy on the terrace.
To get there, take the bus from Orsières to Liddes, then start your hike in the centre of the village. The route follows the Sentier des Éperviers trail, runs alongside the Torrent d’Aron, crosses Erra d’en Bas and then Erra d’en Haut before reaching the hut. A walk combining nature, discoveries and spectacular views!
Accessible to both experienced hikers and sporty families, the hut is an iconic stop on the great Alpine tours. Renovated in 2015, it combines tradition and renewable energy, and offers educational trails dedicated to wildlife, flora and sustainable energy.
If you visit a mountain hut in the Pays du St-Bernard region, don’t forget to take part in the competition they are organising: there are ten fantastic prizes to be won, such as a night in a mountain hut or a Saint-Bernard Classic PASS for the 2025-2026 season!
