Museum and kennels of the Grand-St-Bernard hospice

Description

The Musée de l’Hospice du Grand-Saint-Bernard (Museum of the Hospice of the Great St. Bernard) allows you to visit, in the place of their origin, the breeding of the famous dogs which today is entrusted to the Barry Foundation.

Housed in the attic of the hotel opposite the Hospice, the museum showcases the surrounding natural environment: mineralogy, fauna, flora, climate… and traces the prehistory and history of this particular passageway, based on objects offered or abandoned by passers-by: Bronze Age weapons, Gallic coins, plaques, votive statuettes and Roman coins found at the sites of successive places of worship.
